Browse local machine code then upload!!

hi guys,

I am playing around with a new social networking dedicated site and its looking sick at the moment like myspace but i think better.. I am a database designer and i know php code and all the other crap!! haha i could get one of my staff to do it for me but hey can not have the boss not knowing something haha

what i want to do!!

i want to be able to let people upload a picture from their local machine via browsing there my docs etc then clicking upload instead of a http web address. ebay have this facility when uploading images to sell a product..

Anyone got the php code to do this or pass on some knowledge its bugging me ive tried a few ways but not so stable. Does not matter if i need many servers to do it as i have that.

would really appreciate some ideas from the good peps of NP
