"Broad" keywords v. exact

Everyone here agrees that owning keyword.com is stupendous in helping you rank well for "keyword".

However, it's also great in helping you index for similar "broad" terms, such as: overture keyword, keyword tool, etc.

I bring this up because the majority of my search engine hits are from these broad terms. So although only a few of my domains get a lot of hits off the exact term, my sites make money anyways because I get so many hits from broad terms.

Maybe some of you have additional insight.

This is true to a point but it really depends on the niche and competitiveness.

In competitive markets like finance and loans I'd say you're better targeting a specific query and nailing that down for your traffic that going the broad route.

As for parking, well it's rare that a parked domain will rank well in Google due to lack of content so most traffic comes from type ins and old links.
