This special beta test lets you give Gmail, Google's webmail service, to every user at your domain. Gmail for your domain is hosted by Google, so there's no hardware or software for you to install or maintain.

I like the idea as well - providing gmail for your all your users. I would try it but only one of my sites has a forum. And it's pretty dead over there. So I am going to hold off. I am sure it would spark some kind of interest. But I know some of my user already have gmails

I use it to offer free accounts on the zamblo.net domain to those who would like it. Its got a great administration panel, but isn't very end-user customizable. Its still a great service though.

I use it for my personal domain name. It's basically gmail, only you're using it
with your domain name instead of gmail's.

I recognize the fact they can do anything with my email as they wish, even
discontinue the free service anytime. But for now, it's suitable for my needs,
especially when my relatives and friends send me large attachments.

The only thing I don't like about gmail is they don't allow users to create their
own folders currently. I hope they'll allow this in the future so I can organize
my emails from my various online subscriptions.

So features not the same as a standard gmail.com email account?
Shame. If, or when they do add the features, this idea has potential of being another killer app for them.

And, if they add domain registration (at cost, or minimal profit) the growth possibilities are tremendous for them - if they act quickly, before Yahoo, Microsoft, and others jump onto same bandwagon.
