I would've emailed them but I've already asked a similar question and didn't want to wait a few days for a response...

The domains showed on the first page, are they random or something? I'm seeing domains that been published for awhile on the front page while new domains are 2 pages in.

Should the default layout be displaying recently added first? Anyone else have a domain published that wasn't on page 1 immediately after?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

The front page are staff picks, meaning their domains and big contributors domains, I was told by them they only show new submissions on staff picks if they are listed over $3000. They changed this from new listings to staff picks just before xmas

Honestly, $10 for every listing upfront, a whopping 30% consignment fee, plus you have to pay for a crappy logo? No thanks!

Front page, i.e. staff picks are not for big domain contributors only. Recently I had 17 names accepted for total of 24 with BrandBucket, out of which 4 ended up on the front page. Three of those were below $3k and one was barely over it. Since then 2 of 4 have been removed and can be found via search, sorting out by date, or my personal profile.

Regarding the $10 fees, I paid those only for first 2 domains listed with BB. Ever since I have been using voting feature to get around it and, as many other people reported forum wide, it does not take much time and is totally worth it.

I confirm - I listed for the first time and my domain was 3-4 days on the front page. And you know what - it was sold. So - this makes a big difference. The other one (I listed two) wasn't at the first page - and as you can guess it's not sold yet. And I like it even better:)

I had 4 listed on the homepage and they never sold. Some of my other sold though.

I had 7 names in when first (hopefully not the last) of my domains sold. It was actually the lowest priced one which I actually raised the price of (via 20% +/- slide) all the way I could. I still feel there was money lost in that deal.

BrandBucket sure commands an authority that other similar sites do not, but they are not be all / end all kind of site nevertheless. I strongly feel that BrandRoot is more that a worthy competitor (no personal or business affiliations whatsoever) and one everybody that is into brandables should give a fair chance to.

Anyway, ending this post on a plus note and heading toward grabbing a next cold beer out of my freezer. I hope most, if not all of the members of this illustrious forum can enjoy one (and more) of those themselves regardless of the subject that is in the limelight atm ;)
