Five years ago I bought the domain xx.ma for $400 on this forum and I've paid renewals, controlled DNS, the entire time. Recently I received a message from NETIM the registrar behind the domain requiring me to change the ownership information due to new .ma rules requiring ownership information match the true owner.
The ownership information was still the information of the old owner 5 years ago so I went to update the information which ended up requiring me paying $20 to do. From that I received a form to fill in sent by NETIM employees from .ma registry.
I was told by NETIM that I had to fill in the form with my name and signature and the original owner's name and signature.
As well as that they also require me to get the original owner's passport scan and send it to NETIM.
I have been unable to get this information from the old owner because they aren't responding to any messages here on this forum after 5 years.
I am unable to renew the domain until I update the ownership information. (Expires in a few months)
NETIM are ignoring my messages now after explaining that 1. I am sure I should provide another person's passport and 2. I cannot get the original owner to respond.
I am under time constraints because renewal is blocked. NETIM won't reply. I contacted .ma registry 3 weeks ago and haven't had a response.
What do I do in this situation? Am I protected?
