:hi: Hi, actually one of my sites shows tons of 302 redirect traffic.

302 Moved temporarily (redirect) 51437 95.9 % 790.32 MB

The regular traffic is around 70 mb.

Well, the site was target of a ddos attack last month. Don't ask me why, I have nothing special there. I think the site may be still under attack. So my question is, how I can found out who is redirecting to my site and more important how can I block these unwanted redirects?

In case that I posted it in the wrong forum, mods, please move it to the right one. Thank you. :)

I would create a splash page explaining the situation and put a link on it to proceed to the site. If you tell people "I'm getting alot of strange traffic, bear with me" or somethign they probably won't get too pissed with having to click a link to see the site. If you keep that intro page small, you'll reduce your bandwidth usage from bad redirects.

There's a fair amount of information available on this if you google 302 hijack(ing) - it was a big problem a while back.

Basically, to find them you need to search for listings with your domain in the url that don't originate from your site
(i.e. www .evilhijackingsite .tld/abc/123/www.yoursite.tld/yourpagename.htm). Find the IP of the offending site(s) and block them in .htaccess (or through IIS if you're on windoze).

It also helps to fix canonical issues in your site - make sure you have the non-www name redirecting to the www version (or vice versa, whichever you prefer), use a <base href= ...> tag in your source ...

Thanks for the response and the suggestions. And a very sorry for the delay in replying. Meanwhile I changed my webhost and had to move all sites to the new one. That kept me busy for a while.

Well, I read many informations about the 302 matter. My mainproblem was, that I couldn't find out from where all the traffic came whatever method I used. You know since month the particular site got frequently attacked from a certain country. I guess, just for fun.
However, I still didn't find out, but I hope that with the move the problem won't continue.

Again, thanks alot for your help. :)
