The Cryptocurrency Domain Name Block-Chain.Com Has Been Acquired for $1,000,000
One of the largest ever cryptocurrency domain name acquisitions was announced during Consensus 2018, the 4th annual blockchain technology summit sponsored by CoinDesk. A group of investors has purchased the Block-chain.com domain for $1 million (111 BTC), which makes this the third most expensive cryptocurrency domain name acquisition ever.

Prior to this transaction, the most expensive blockchain domain names sold were btc.com (sold for $1.1 million as early as 2014) and eth.com (sold for $2 million in October 2017). The buyers of the Block-chain.com domain immediately launched one of the largest portals in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry, bringing together the functionality of all the current major industry players.

now i understood , all points approx, except one, that is what if , they are from

same geographichal area
same country
same class
same niche
same category

then is there will be a TM or copyright issue with it.

thanks
The TM "authority" will check your submission for a TM and will reject it if this (your mentioned points) is the case.
They onlyyy will / can register it if all criterias (different class/es or different georaphical area/as) are given.

It's the main point / sense of a TM to be unique in its registered class/es and its registered geographical area/s, its decisive to get an unique selling point guaranteed.
So it's not possible to register the same word / pic / … as TM in the same class/es /
same geographical area/s.

BTWWW
It is possible to register the same word / pic / … as TM in more than one class/es / geographical area/s - theoretically you can register it for all classes / geographical areas (in which it is not already registered by someone other) to get an "all industry - pervasive / global" protection - but this will be veryyy expensive (every class / geographical area costs extra).

Really big / famous brands (Google, Nike, Mercedes, …) have registered their TM(s) in manyyy classes / mainly in manyyy geographical areas (countries) but the most TMs are normally registered in about 1 - 5 classes / geographical areas (countries).

But it’s a Blockchain. Not a Block-Chain.

Congrats to the seller because there are many better names out there for a blockchain related company for FAR less money.

2nd best to Blockchain.com... No way!
unitedstatesofamerica ❓🤣

European likes Block-Chain rather than Blockchain - that’s fact 😅

It is a Chain of Blocks so it is Block-Chain 🔗

It will show later on, I think, right now not showing, u must be thinking what kind of person I am, talking about same thing....:giggle::xf.wink::xf.wink:

The sales hasn't been verified I think, that is why $1 million price is not yet added to NameBio.

Keep asking questions mate, it shows your spirit of 'learning'. Keep it up.

I think it will prove to be legit.

But I would not get too excited with hyphens :)

Block-chain...this is type of word where hyphen "-" kind of match the spirit of the domain, there are not many of such words...

I’m from Europe, and don’t like hyphens. You’re confusing European with German.

Of course you don’t like hyphens , maybe you don’t understand them 😉
