It seems to me whenever I see auctions I see a statement...

BIN - TBA

Bin price = To Be Announced

I'm thinking we should have two types of auctions

With BIN

&

Without BIN

I'm not sure I like this BIN to be announced scenario. Either you list it with a bin or you don't!!

Just my personal opinion but I'm personally getting tired of waiting for bins, I would give preference to market section that mandated BIN pricing and a separate one that did not.

Just my opinion, not looking to change namePros policies but in my opinion you either set it or you don't. This PM'ing or asking for BIN is just getting annoying.

BINs are not always pre-set. They can be dependent on many factors, like number of bids, highest bid, auction length, competition on similar name, views etc..

I'm with you I prefer posting a BIN and seeing a BIN immediately rather than waiting or having one pop up unexpectedly.

I'm OK with both but I would prefer to see a separate auction section that mandates BIN immediately.

Well I probably have a bias on this topic as I do more selling then buying here on NP, I will say though this is simply a strategy by the seller to get the highest price for their domain. Sure NP could create a separate page for auctions that allow a TBA BIN, but that would probably impact the other auction page. Sellers are going to post their names for auction where they have the most flexibility or they'll simply change their strategy and instead just constantly change the BIN up or down according the bids it's receiving.

I'm just not seeing the inconvenience in PMing the seller for a BIN price. Maybe the other option here is limiting the auction duration that can be set. I've gotten to the point on some my auctions where I simply am ready for it close and therefore set a BIN close to the next bid amount.

Thanks,

Has this BIN covered to your satisfaction? Because if so, now you can say:

"BIN there, done that!"

Oh the cheese. The cheese of it all.
