Well, Im having some what of a serious problem. It appears all of my book marks are GONE in Fire Fox. I cant figure out what the problem is. They where there at 2:00 am, but now at 8am they are gone. My wife was on the computer, but the only site she went to was Yahoo and Tagworld.com. I went to do a system restore and on there, it said there was a restore called System Software Distribution.

BTW Instead of my bookmarks, except for a few of mine, there are links to the following:

http://www-3.ibm.com/ibm/easy/eou_ext.nsf/Publish/561

http://msdn.microsoft.com/ui/

http://developer.kde.org/documentation/standards/kde/style/basics/

IF you could plz help me find the problem and get my book marks back, Id really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Sam

I've had the same thing happened to me some time a go... actually more than once.. I believe it's some corruption on the file in FireFox when you force quit it (Alt+Ctrl+Del)

nothing you can do will bring them back :(

Would that replace some of the bookmarks, but not all

it essentially resets your bookmark file.. the bookmarks you have listed seem to me to be default (i.e. you're got MSDN and KDE installed?)

Firefox is just buggy like that. The developers don't seem to care much about fixing bugs, this one has been there for a while :(

There are ways to stop this happening in the future, however. Example

I have the same exact problem and it SUCKS! However there is an extension avialable that will make backups of your bookmarks and then you can manually re-set them in just a few minutes.

It is available through the Add Ons/Extension site addons.mozilla.org and I think it is called Bookmark Backup or something like that. I have it on my FF and it has worked like a charm.
