Hello Fellas,

Reading jmweb's recent post about the old lady, ("havoc in the parking lot")
reminded me of an experience that I once had helping an old lady.

It was many years ago, during the middle of the day. We had just moved into the neighbourhood.
An unexpected knock at the front door. Before I could get to the door, the knock again - this time, louder, almost urgent.
I answered. The door was just ajar, when a little old lady fell into my arms, muttering, "help me, help me".
I duly obliged - half carrying her into the living room.
I sat her on the sofa. I hardly looked at her, (I thought that she may be suffering a heart attack, or stroke) and ran to the 'phone, shouting that I was going to call an ambulance.
"No,no,no", she shouted so loudly, that I stopped in my tracks.
She was now sitting upright and looking quite composed, if somewhat dishevelled.
Amazed, I went over to her.....and then the unmistakeable stench of rum hit me!
To this day, I still dont know how I didn't smell it at the doorway.
I then realized that nothing was amiss - she was just paryletic drunk!
The Samaritan in me immediately dissapeared.
I took her (none too gently) by the arm, lifted her from the sofa, and half carried, half walked her to the front door, (she was protesting all the while) and closed it behind her.
I watched her through the window as she walked up the road, cleverly using garden fences for support.
I had to grin to myself - until I looked at the sofa!
She had wet herself!
I dont mean a damp patch - or even a wet cushion!
In the few seconds that she'd been sitting down, she must have passed more urine than a Sumo wrestler. She had soaked the sofa right through to the base.
My wife came home from work, her usual happy self - but not for long!
Needless to say, we had to carry the nearly new, ruined sofa into the yard.
Curiously, I never saw the old lady again, but when we got to know the neighbours, and told them what happened, they informed us that she was well known in the area for being a drunken pest.
We laugh about it now, but at the time...............
