I read that a couple of days ago.
I truly do think that the % of malicious .info sites are higher, most likely because
of the easy/cheap availability of that extension.

As another poster suggested, surf with Firefox and keep your computer protection updated.

Majority of the spam in my e-mail filters comes from .info (affiliates or pseudo affiliates)

On the face of it looks like bad reporting using bad math for example

11.8 percent .info thats 1 in 9 really which ones where are they testing?

5.26 percent for .com thats 1 in 20 and of 76 million .com domains thats a lot of naughty sites out there

Put another way thats 1 bad site on every second Google page (10 results per page) that everybody searches for ever.

The cynic in me observes they do stand to benefit if more people believe they need McAfee products to protect themselves, it may be however their reporting of their analysis is just genuinely flawed.

To me ,the article's negativity is short lived. Look @ the number of .infos regged. its mayja! lol. Just like human nature, we always prefer to see the negative. What about the millions of good/non-spam .info sites? I like .info, its very popular in the world, and we should all just do our b est not to take part in these nefarious activities, and we'll surely keep improving .info ....
