Beware: Fake eBay Auction - CO.MU

SpaceshipSpaceship
Watch
Attention all NPers!!!

A guy is trying to sell a fake domain name: CO.MU

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220217275829

For your information,

The domain name co.mu is owned and it is being operated by the .MU registry itself. They are using this domain name to allocate 2nd level domain names under .mu cctld.

The interesting thing is the seller has given the registrar information, and the expiry date for co.mu, which is also found to be invalid.

Actual expiry date for CO.MU: 25 Aug 2015

I'm guessing the seller is selling WWW.CO.MU, that is, he's registered the name WWW under the third level .CO.MU. :|
http://nic.mu/modules/smartwhois/whois.php?domain=www.co.mu

It's pretty misleading though, tread carefully...

Thanks for the info. I understood. The seller is actually selling a 3rd level domain name, under co.mu.

It is misleading, and he has not given the fact that the domain name is a 3rd level domain name.

Extremely Deliberately misleading actually, becuase the seller has made the "co" part a darker red in the acution, to give the impression "co" is the actual domain name, deliberate scumbag just like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...em=190209585365&_trksid=p3984.cTODAY.m238.lVI
Notice how the seller says nothing about it being an L not an i at the start of the pseudo word item, than deliberately in small writing lower down quote from aution: "Ask what ever you need to know before bid, there are no refunds, good look!!!" So he is hoping no one will ask, so he doesn't have to refund when the the buyer finds out did not get a generic word .biz, but Ltem.biz worth all of minus 0.00001cent

Plain scum!
