Being from the US, what is the best way to monetize (legally) a poker or gambling related site? If the site doesn't discuss gambling online, can you use Adsense?

My site (one of them) would deal with poker tournament news and schedules and shy away from promoting online play (as I believe that's illegal for a US citizen).. I was thinking I could promote travel packages and the like, clickbank gambling related products, etc. I wonder if Amazon allows links on such sites?

one thing that worked for me is having a site the has poker tournaments (example Atlantic City). They you try to make the local traffic conversion (Hotels.com for AC casino stays, etc.) It all comes down to the type of traffic you get

if you broaden the poker tournaments throughout the US, you'll be able to capitalize on various markets within the US. If you get enough traffic, you can generate your income from hotels, books/ebooks, transportation, etc.

Best of luck...
