Hi all...

I own about 1,000 domains, all with various registrars, parked at different companies and with different nameservers. It is a mess now to manage them, some being forgotten and dropped, some, not pointing to anywhere.

I am sure some of you guys face the same thing. Any seasoned domainers here who can give me recommendations of the best domain portfolio management software?

I tried to access DNZoom.com but I guess they are having some technical problems.

Please help!

TQ TQ,..... Al

I suggest you take a look at namefollow. Not free but should do the job for you.

Spreadsheets is simple, classic and best.
by the way, how come you don't manage your domain portfolio well and register 1,000 domain names, is it crazy?

Thats why software is better than a spreadsheet (especially with 1000 domains) its all automated, domains that are set to expire appear in a different colour, all columns and headings can be customised (registrar, expiry, extension etc)

Lots of other little features too

good luck

I have been looking for over a year for something like this. The best solution as far as I can tell is Watch My Domains, as gilescoley suggests (I believe it is sold separately and also as part of the larger software package DomainPunch). Unfortunately they do not have a Mac version so Mac users like me are out of luck.

This looks good except that like other portfolio management sites it only works with a limited number of registrars. Here's the list I found on their site:

* DomainSite
* Dotster
* Enom
* GoDaddy
* iDotz
* Moniker
* NameCheap
* NamePros
* Onlinenic
* RegisterFly

I have a large portion of my portfolio elsewhere (eg, Fabulous) so this won't work for me.

The problem with spreadsheets is that 1) they don't automatically update changes, esp expiration, and 2) they are so easy to FUBAR. More than once I have done something (usually involves the 'sort' feature) that misalligns my columns - and then the spreadsheet is worthless.

I am now using the Domain Monitor tool at DomainTools.com. So far so good except that they only allow six TLDs: .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, and .us. So I've still got about 300 domains that must be managed via the dreaded spreadsheet method ... and still looking for a more perfect solution.

I use the DRT from DomainResearchTool.com. Its portfolio management feature tracks changes to your domains automatically, expiration dates, whois record changes, DNS changes etc.

It's got a truckload of other very powerful tools you can use to find more domains, buy and sell domains, etc.

Disclaimer: The creator is my business partner in another venture, but I have no financial interest in DRT and don't get commission from referrals.

Hey guys...

Thanks for all the most helpful answers. I am now reviewing some of the suggestions and will eventually settle on one. I guess it is about time for me to get this done...

TQ TQ!

We just launched a free domain portfolio manager that pulls in whois data for all domains and lets you add buy and sell prices along with dates for tax purposes. It calculates a net profit based on your buy date, reg fees and buy price.

I started using Efty this week and it's awesome! Been using excel spreadsheets up until now. Efty has everything you need to manage your domains, and it's only a few bucks a month.

What are you talking about. The link Giles quoted says it has a MAC version.

Our Domain Management feature at http://www.Lysted.com allows you to track whois information for all the published names. It has warning notifications of 30/60 days expiration. Also it allows other filters such as prices/length etc. You can export the data out as well.
