Best Domain Name for a Social networking site.

I was just wondering.
is friendPULSE a nice domain name for a Social Networking Site.?

If its not, What are the other best name on a Social Networking site that is available this days ?

Well, part of the site depends on the domain but mostly it is about development and content. Myspace is a good name, partly because it's so memorable and partly because it makes sense - you get your own 'space'. Friendster did not sound as good to me, rather immature in fact, yet it prospered. It is all about the development. Friendpulse could work nicely just as long as you have thousands of members.

Good luck, try and get something short and memorable.

I agree with JYM... the domain the one of the least important factors.

Personally I think its more important to have a short-pronounable domain for this sort of site rather than a long domain that perhaps makes more sense.

Depends on your target audience as well. An older age group would probably prefer a sensible straight forward domain name while a younger age group would probably be more attracted to and remember a domain name more relevant to their age group. I have NeXseek.com available if you would be interested. (like nexgen...next generation) If you like the domain, I will give it to you for a small partnership in the future website. I would definately find a .com name though as it is seen as more professional. Good names can be expensive though. As stated above, the success depends on a short, easy to remember, sensible domain name but more importantly good website development and branding of the domain name.

I have iYeb.com - I think its a good domain for this sort of site. Thinking about making it into a Portal site in the future.

iYeb obviously doesnt mean anything but its short and prouncable

Just go out and search for the word for "friend" in obscure (even ancient/extinct) languages. Much of what you find will be interesting and pronounceable. Plus, some of the names may be available still -- particularly those seven letters and more.

I don't want to disturb your thinking from finding the right domain as you want it but :

If you see all the social network sites focus on registrations not names. What more can you find?
A 2 word domain with the word friend or similar.
I would suggest to take FriendPulse.com (don't highlight PULSE) and start develop it ASAP

The only (-) i find at the name is that has too many typo options at the spelling
FrientPulse, FriendPalse.com ....

but on the other hand i can't imagine a name that will not have any
