The Chinese regard the number 8 as a lucky number.

Plus, they banned Scottish athletes and their supporters from waving Scottish flags which really annoys me.

It's a shame that they allways bring politics into sport. It's probably more to do with the Tibetan flag. I remember in the Barcelona Olympics were the crowd showed their Catalan flags but they weren't banned.

China is still shit scared of any signs of dissent or protest.

The US basketball team easily beat China 101-70.

Lithuania beat Olympic champs Argentina, Croatia beat Australia and Spain beat Greece

wow OLYMPICS 2008 has started..it was the most amazing opening ceremony i have seen for years..Chinese people really did their jobs!! superb!

Michael Phelps won his 2nd gold medal when the US beat France in the 4x100 freestyle relay. They had an amazing recovery in the last 50 metres. A race to be remembered for a long, long time.

It was a very exciting race, I was out of my seat at the end of it.

You can only feel sorry for the French who were considered by some as favorites . On the other hand you have to admire the US swimmer who recovered a considerable French lead to just barely beat them. WOOOOW! :tu:
