And I wish I had found this forum before I did... It could've saved me some money. A lot of it was on impulse.

Anyways, these aren't all the domains I bought but here's what I think are some of the good ones are that could be worth something.

bangers.dj
chill.dj
dj.network
billboard.hiphop
thebest.pizza
reallygood.games
global.warming.solutions (warming.solutions)

I also got these. Unsure if I could get into trouble for having these.

I come from a background of digital marketing (more specifically SEO) so I wouldn't call me myself a complete noob, but I'm definitely new to the domain world. There's a lot to learn.

Thoughts?

the good news: you made someone real happy paying him 1.7k for these.

the bad news: you just lost 1.7k.

stick to .com if you're starting out. and then when you're no longer starting out, stick to .com too.

Yeah that's what I thought.

Good news is I didn't buy these with the intention to make any sort of profit.

Yes, if you've recently registered (last few days) you may be able to get a refund.. but the term you'll learn about is UDRP.. Read more about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uniform_Domain-Name_Dispute-Resolution_Policy

This. You have some bad domains there. Although I can also say you might consider emoji domains (stick to .ws!). Those have been selling and some are holding on for appreciation.

I am sorry, but my guess is that you just wasted 1,7K. I kind of like DJ.network but not the rest...

When I buy new gTLDs, I follow my own check-list with parameters:

1. Has it's Keyword + TLD taken in .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .eu, .co.uk, .de, .tv, .us (and hopefully even more extensions).
2. Has a CPC above $1 (preferable above $2).
3. Has at least a decent search volume and frequency in Google.
4. is NOT a trademark.
5. Has a renewal fee below $50 (preferable below $25).
6. Will get at least 5 type-ins or visits per day (to a landing page).

List all your domains (except the ones with TM) on Afternic, Sedo, etc., for $ 99 BIN. You spent $ 1,700, but when the renewal time will come ... it will be hard.

Welcome and see it as learning fee. I made many mistakes buying a lot of domains where I think they could be a lot of worth but turns out 99.9% of them were worthless...

The good thing is you would have learnt from it. It was costly but you can turn it around (y)

I don't think you can say you're a domainer unless you p**s some hard-earned against the wall.

But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You'll do just fine. (Quite like DJ.network)

My tip is to stay away from the trademark domains though.

Welcome to the community!

The best thing you did,
is that you stopped at $1700.
Now if you can develop some of these with your seo experience then you can reduce a little bit of that huge hole in your pocket.
Good Luck (y)

I really like your list. :)

Thanks a lot!

The first "paragraph" is not applicable for .xyz. .ooo, .ltd and so on. But that is obvious, I guess.
