LOL..yea, I wouldn't say 'blew' at all. I would say whomever owned the domain before was an idiot and didn't know about one of the biggest broadcasting stations in the world, haha.

For a company with over 5 Billion in revenue, I don't think they will even notice $375K missing from their bank account.. Sucks for whomever owned it before!

It is poker.

If you have a domain that they can't take from you - that you have every right to own, and it is treasured by a major business, then holding out probably pays off. The BBC would pay (I reckon) up to $3 million for that domain today.

But a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!

But if the BBC link has a date tag of 2005 why is it a news today?

or much better the former owner just blew it.

or finally right time for the former owner to let it go to the right company.

Would be interesting to know how much the seller Boston Business Computing originally bought bbc.com for. If they hand registered it or got it for some minimal amount some I would say 375k is a nice chunk of change.

Good for Big Blue and Cousins for fighting and winning with bbc.org

Not a new story but still a lot of taxpayer's money spent on a domain that just redirects to .co.uk.

Supposedly at the time they had some sort of global business aspirations but since they're not using it maybe they should sell it off to pay for some real-life public services.

There are a lot of adult words beginning with b and c so it could be a global adult site.

...this should tell all the people who are registering the .whatevermybehinds that even the big companies are going towards .com...hmmm....guess why???
Another big UK based one ( dailymail probably but not sure.. ) recently left the geo extension for the .com

I wonder when Mirror.co.uk is going to change to Mirror.com?
