Very topical. Resale value might be only low $xxx I think, but I suspect that if you develop a simple informational website you could make some money. I think you should develop it as quickly as possible, since this is a current news story.

the big problem with this name in my opinion is that the scandal is behind us. people have heard about it accepted it and ready to move on. Remember how mad people were about the baseball strike? The fans lost intrest in that scandal real fast. a 1919 black socks scandal website might be fun, but its so well documented on the internet already
