Banner host?

Okay so obviously im new to all of this...anyways, recently i made a banner and I have a domain name and a host (polurnet). I was wondering, since i want this banner to be stored somewhere so that people can access it, how can I store it on my own site and view it? Do I do something to my ftp or how does that work?

You simply upload it via FTP to your webspace like you would do with any file from your site. After you have uploaded it, type in the exact URL you put it on to check if it can be acessed.

After that, have your banner rotation system generate a code for the banner that you'll embed into your pages (if you don't have a banner delivery system, you can do it by hand as well).

That's it...

What I usually do is make a new folder called banners and put all of my promotional material in there. Then I make an index.html file with all of the banners, buttons, etc.. listed with the exact linking code so that people, if they wish, can link to my site with that material.

This way it keeps all of your information in one place, neat and tidy.

If you are worried about BW the option like the one mentioned above will work too, however you should read the TOS to make sure you know how long they will be hosted, so limited the hosting to 60 days and then purge their old files to save on HD space.

okay so I put a .gif animated banner in my image files for phpbb and then replaced the logo that came with the board with the .gif source. but it wont animate like it is supposed to. (at least thats waht my friend told me). can someone verify this. www.thedailystudent.com its the banner in the top left. Thanks

It seems to be working for me, I am not sure exactly what it is supposed to do but it is working as an "animated gif"
