Making animated banners

Hi, well ive been trying my hand at some animated banners using Photoshop and to be honest im suprised at how easy it is (copy frame, change a few things etc...)

But now im trying new things with and im curious about one thing, see these banners:

How do they get that blurred effect on the text between frames?

Also any other tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Blur the text by 15 on a new layer and make that frame last about 0.5 seconds

I know how to make the frames last 0.5 seconds etc.... but i cant remember how to blur the text, is it the same way you would add a drop shadow to it etc..?

No, thats not my site, just some examples of the blurring text effect i found.

As for the site, never used them so dont know but they seem to be reputable.
