Band domain

hi,
there was a band I saw on myspace last year, pretty new band and I enjoyed their music, they were unsigned at the time so I registered the .net and .com of their name, as I expected them to become big. As of right now they have 2942238 profile views, 150,000 friends and they have a record label, they also do live shows and have a music video out.

If I sell the domain, will I face any problems? I had the domain before they were successful. also, any value in it? :3

Well you already broke the rule of prior knowledge. However, sales are generally okay within the venue of a forum or auction site to uninvolved 3rd parties. Calling up the music label would not be the thing to do.

If you sold the domain to a 3rd party person, i.e: not another band or record label, then you should be ok. If they contact you though, plead ignorance of the band and sell the domain to them :P PM me the band URL - I wanna check em out

I originally planned developing the domain for the band, I started doing quite a bit of it but eventually stopped as I didn't have time to do it money free. I may consider doing it again.

Do you think it'd be worth anything, considering the band has the potential to top the UK charts at some point in the future? They have quite a lot of fans and have performed live and have music videos out

I'm unsure whether or not to develop it for free and see if the band like it and use it as a portfolio item for development, or just sell it.

Does that not open me up to being told to hand it over or be sued?
