Hi all,

I just closed the deal on this one. It gets around 3000 uniques per day, making $750 per month. I'll be developing it. There are around 2.9 million searches for "band" on Google per month, which is comparable, at least in volume, with keywords like "travel" and "mortgage":

I just checked out WordTracker's results (which are drawn from monthly searches on DogPile and MetaCrawler). Their sample size is too small to be relevant:

travel 7079
mortgage 1296
band 754

That's about 0.02% of Google & Yahoo's volume - it's statistically meaningless.

Those are daily searches. Ultimately though I think you'll believe what you want to believe, neither the yahoo nor the wordtracker are in line with the google trends data from your first post. It is a great name, but blind freddy can see it is not comparable to "travel" in terms of popularity.

Here is a good example to show just how flawed google trends is, according to the link below the word "best" is as popular as "sex". Then we have the word "and" which is now the hottest search term on the planet being 10 times as popular as "sex" according to google,

Obviously "and" is more popular than "sex"? Why do you think it wouldn't be?

If you want to base your business on guesses from second-rate, low traffic, pseudo-engines knock yourself out

Its worth billions in my view too. Its not only about the "band" word, but also, "ban" "d", "b" "and" or whichever way search engines read it. Quite brandable for some hollywood people and even for musicians, teenager clubs and so on..whoa..you have got a gem indeed. + :imho:

Your right, that parking page is kind of a terd. I would run away from it as soon as I could. Get something from fabulous or namedrive and see your rpm go up. My opinion. Band.com could be inline with something like beer.com. I think it got 7 million. A killer name to be sure. Who cares about splitting hairs over travel vs. Mortgage numbers. The end result is still a very popular search term but more importantly a target group of end users with the most disposable income for marketing of any. Record labels!

Any less than 3 mill. tell them to eat it....
