Would say around 100k-150k,

The traffic stats don't sound right unless it was old link traffic of something. When it was sold in 2004 the owner claimed it had visitor numbers of "200+ a day, all type-ins".

According to wordtracker it has around 10% the popularity of travel and half that of mortgage.

The stats are definitely correct - I've got 18 months of stats from the parking company. As for WordTracker, who do you trust; Google's actual search data or WordTracker's guess, based on MetaEngines like DogPile?

even without traffic, its such an amazing name with limitless potential in music field.

i mean look what petergabriel is doing for example at we7.com

plus the whole music industry is being forced to move online and buying music via downloads (sadly) looks like the way it's gonna be

has to be min $500k imo , perhaps a LOT more to someone motivated., congrats beachie. another gem :sold:

Wordtracker, google trends is often pretty suspect in my view.

Regarding the traffic if the count is right why is the RPM so low $8.33? RPM should be 10 times higher than that. I bet if you park is anywhere else the count will be alot lower.

As arnie said though it is a huge name regardless of traffic.

The current parking page is pretty crappy IMO, which affects the CTR. Frankly, WordTracker isn't worth the subscription. Here's Overture's results for the same keyword, direct from Yahoo - not some guesstimate based on a low volume pseudo-engine like Metacrawler:

Travel 4,133,489
Band 2,691,986
Mortgage 1,703,104

What is crappy about the current page? Dotzup is one of the best monetizers around, that page is dead on target. Regarding the Yahoo stats I think we all know those figures are combining singular and plural for bands/band.

How do they get ads for Brazil travel in there?

Anyway, amazing domain congrats and good luck with it. As far as an appraisal, i am nowhere near qualified to give an accurate appraisal, but I would venture close to $350,000 :imho:

Searches for "band" are always higher than searches for "bands" from what I've seen.

Here's a graph showing comparibly the volume of traffic WordTracker bases it's guesses on:
http://no_url_shorteners/32p8zn

Like I said, do you trust Yahoo and Google's actual data or data based on low-volume metaengines that try to guess.

Here is google's own view on it,

"8. How accurate and up-to-date is the information provided by Google Trends?

Google Trends is a Google Labs product, which means it's still in its early stages of development. The data Google Trends produces may contain inaccuracies for a number of reasons, including data-sampling issues and a variety of approximations that Trends makes use of. We hope you find this service interesting and entertaining, but you probably don't want to write your Ph.D. dissertation based on this information."

"1. How does Google Trends work?

Google Trends analyzes a portion of Google web searches to compute how many searches have been done for the terms you enter, relative to the total number of searches done on Google over time. We then show you a graph with the results -- our search-volume graph -- plotted on a linear scale."

So? What do Google say about WordTracker?

I agree with you on that one. I really don't know how you can put a dollar amount on this right now, because whatever amount you put, the name will probably be worth several times that in a few years.

I just checked out WordTracker's results (which are drawn from monthly searches on DogPile and MetaCrawler). Their sample size is too small to be relevant:

travel 7079
mortgage 1296
band 754

That's about 0.02% of Google & Yahoo's volume - it's statistically meaningless.
