I was wondering if anybody knows any company that backorders indian TLDs. I have found a couple of them, unfortunately they want the money up-front. My experience is that when you pay up-front you never get the domain.

I found this topic interesting because i will be there to catch a bunch of .in and .co.in when they drop yet when i clicked the link i get a template exactly the same as www.resellers.co.in

the site the backlink goes to is

http://domains.eliteral.com/anacreon/?&redirectpage=/?

Seems resellers and eliteral and probably a host of others use directi.com templates.

They all use DirectI reseller's account :)

thanks Pratik..

So will you also have the option to backorder on your site?? i would rather keep all my domains and future backorders in the same place with you. Oh by the way i added your resellers.co.in to my PR4 blog :) so hopefully that will direct potential clients to you too.

I haven't really looked into backordering. As, the issue would come up after 16th Feb 2006. But I'll surely look into it now :)

Thanks,

Hmmmm....

Yes, February is only 4 months away so I guess it's time to start exploring the future backorder options. It will be interesting to see who offers the service, and what the .IN/.CO.IN registry has to say about the process. So far I haven't even seen it mentioned anywhere.

I guess I need to find a way to disable Steve's (Tips) Internet access once we discover a source, so he doesn't beat me to all the best dropping names. :guilty:

thread is pretty old but that is what i was looking for . So any one found some registrar who is taking backorders for .in domains ? no resellers. Some service available which shows deleting .in domains ? and when do you expect .in to be released by registry for re registration if its expiration date and time is
16-Feb-2006 06:32:45 UTC
Help would be appreciated.

I contacted DirectI and talked to some manager over phone. But no success :(

Sad, but true.

so i assume that .in will follow same deletion process as .com ? same number of days.

Probably, thats how most domains run.

I have looked all over and still not found a drop service for .co.in or .in so i just live by the check name on the great resellers.co.in and hope i find some..

I am sure Pratik will sort something out soon but drop indian domains seems to be a very rare thing people are holding on to them i can not say i blame them.

After a .in/.co.in name has expired, it will be deleted 40 days later. And no drop-services (that I know of), and I think that's wonderful.
