I placed backorder with the following backorder companies: Namejet, Snapnames, Pool, and just for shits-and-giggles GoDaddy. Name was taken by something else -- something unknown and was placed in domainnamesales.com/buydomains.com/afternic.com for sale by owner. What the hell's going on? How could this have happened? I just received notification from GoDaddy backorder of changes to the backordered domains nameservers and it pointed right to domainnamesales.com/buydomains.com/afternic.com and when I went to the site there was something above stating offers were being accepted for domain. Is it possible that...
1. Domain registrar (Tucows) has exclusive relationship with domainnamesales.com/buydomains.com/afternic.com and gave it to to them?
2. Is it possible Tucows backordered the domain for themselves to re-sale?
3. Did Frank Shilling get first dibs on the domain?
4. Did a backorder service (Snapname, Namejet, or Pool) review the domain and came to the conclusion it's really valuable?
5. It seems as though it's owned by domainnamesales.com/buydomains.com/afternic.com; they are affiliates.
