Backorder Question

Hi

Say a domain name is expiring on May 20th. Do you think
its wise to subscribe to namejet , snapnames and pool
to grab on the 19th ?

It looks to me like once you try to backorder a name on these
sites, they start appearing on their searches & front pages more predominantly
and lot of other buyers see it get into the auction

Is it wise to stay quiet till the last minute and buy it ?

Thanks

By 'expiring' do you mean the domain name is in pending-delete status, or just expired ? If the name has just expired then it may show up at namejet or snapnames auctions depending on the registrar.
As a rule it's best not to place the backorder too early as the number of bids will be visible to others.

No the domain is in Redemption period now. So i was thinking of waiting till 4 or 5 days in the Pending delete mode and then buying it on namejet or snapnames.

If it's in redemption it will ultimately drop unless the owner decides to redeem (unlikely). Your best bet is to place multiple backorders (snap, pool, godaddy) and wait. Check the date the name will be available on and try not to put your bid too early.
