Average domain # in portfolios

For an average joe like me ( that is that I still have my day job!!! ) and according that I dont have 5k per domain to buy ( so would only need 4-5 domains name and moneterize them quickly ) what is the average number of domains I would need in order to at least make a decent earning at the end of the month? Decent for me currently would be around the 1000$/month that would be decent for a newbie like me.

Dont know if this could help out in your answer but I am a developper since ages.. so I got all the technical / programming side of the game. ( maybe that could help out moneterize quickly or spend less? )

And also, if you dont mind, please include the number of domains you own ( so I could get an idea also )

Not alot time writing (I write one or two posts a day), but I do alot of SEO.



About 60 uniques a day. Some of that 8 bucks is from adsense referrals.

You must have a very nice conversion rate with your visitors. I am getting around 400-500 uniques a day and am only making around $20 a day. Adsense referrals are great being how they can end up being worth over $100 bucks for one click.

Mister, like others have said, 500 + names will not make you $1000/month. Now 500 names that already have traffic to them, will. The best bet for you is to develop.

Do this, I see that you are bored/tired of developing (I understand that, I can't stand doing sites anymore), build a few sites. Get them SEO'ed, and make some rev off them. Collect on that rev for a good while, then take that saved rev and start buying traffic names, then you will be one step closer to your goal.

I forget the exact terms but if someone signs up from your referral link once they pass the 100 dollar mark you get 100 dollars too. The numbers may not be exactly right but I think that is the general idea with adsense. Referral links for other programs also pay very well. Some pay $25 dollars a click if the person signs up with an e-mail. Definately worth looking into how the ads pay the best for what.
