Authorization Codes - Security Question

I recently made a bulk sale of about 500 domains that I had planned to push to the seller's GoDaddy account.

The morning he emailed me an asked for the authorization codes instead (I assume he will be moving them to a different registrar).

Aside from the pain of having request 500 authorization codes and having them emailed to me by GoDaddy are there any other security implications sending him the authorizations codes directly?

There is no way he would access my GoDaddy account with those authorization codes - could he?

I am 99% sure that the auth. code cannot access your account beyond getting out the domain(s) involved.

But I feel for you getting all those codes out of Godaddy - perhaps you can call them and set up one code for the lot??? You could assure yourself of the security at the same time.

The authorization codes isn't used for logging on to your account. Godaddy should be able to put the same code for all domains since it's fully possible.

When a registrar have the authorization code, they can in theory move the domain. This isn't allowed though since they according to the ICANN rules also have to email the admin. contact of the domain in order to verify the transfer before moving.
