Looking for some appraisals on this - I know its .net so alot of value is lost but I couldnt resist for $8. I still think it is somewhat brandable and worth more than reg or is that just me???

Let me know what you think!

P.S - this was first registered in 2000

I like it!
Great Keyword...
I think that domain is very valuable!
I actually cant believe it was available since alot of great plural keywords have been selling with the "z" in place of an "s".
Even though it is a .net, I still see that as a strong brandable domain. I think it could fetch low $xxx.
Best of luck to you!

It was the right decision to grab it for $8. It is now common to have plural with ‘z’ in the domaining world. Look at trafficz.com. The only issue is .net. But honestly it is not a very big issue. Dot net is very popular in the Far eastern countries who are, unlike American fellows, not obsessed by .com. I think worth low to mid $xxx undeveloped.

If it was .com would be great not so much as a .net. these Z names dont typically do as well. mid xx to low xxx.

Asian traffic is the worse to convert. They don't buy jack squat. They are just bandwidth leaches (I GeoIP block them from a couple of my sites). Eastern Europe isn't much better.

It's an interesting domain, but eBay kills everything except the niche auction sites. Oddly enough, being so generic probably hurts the domain (aside from being a .net).

I stand behind what I said.

There is no way I would consider using this name for an auction project.

As I said, there are auction sites that do compete with eBay for niche market segments. And because they operate in very narrow markets the only generic name you'd want to use would be something like the last name of the auction house's owner for a sense of prestige, or a name that is a spin on the market. Taking sports auctions for instance, there is hugginsandscott.com, americanmemorabilia.com, sportico.com, lelands.com .... I can't imagine any of them wanting to use something like auctionz.net. See what I mean???

Let's take this from a negative point/perspective. What if the z is actually an unnecessary. ie. Auction.net.

Although its brandable with the Z. Hard to convince anyone to be a member at first.

I say its like any other domain name that's brandable. maybe good for adsense because keyword according to google has 74,000 exact searches for auction.

But that doesn't mean anything. There's only ebay around competing for bids on google as the auction platform i think.

I think it is worth Mid $XX - Low $XXX. If this domain was .com it could be worth a small fortune based on brandability.

I am a big .NET fan, but the value translates much better with keywords than brandables.
