Hi,

The auction on name.com has some good domains name that expiring soon but have no traffic.

My question is it because the domain isn't good or worth it when it has 0% traffic or 0 people looking at it?

Or is there a good chance to pick up one on the cheap.

Something like for eg: hypemonkeys dot com is expiring soon but has no traffic.

Not saying this domain name is good or not just curious why it doesn't have more traffic.

The type of domains that get traffic are domains that have been developed before and then the site was taken offline for any reason. These domains may still have links bookmarks etc. so they keep getting some traffic the more popular they were the more traffic.
The second is category killer domains, which is the most premium and command a lot of money. Something like 1 word domains, or 2 words exact match.
The domain you mentioned falls into the made up brandables, which have some value as well, but not as much as the previous, and brandables usually do not have worthwhile traffic, but whoever develop them will have to market them and create that traffic.

Imagine if you have several domain names already would very difficult to develop everyone.

Most people in the Domaining business do not develop their domains. Some may pick one or two worthwhile domains and see if they can develop them themselves or with a partner who is an expert in the niche. But no one can develop hundreds or thousands of domains and give them the attention they need/deserve.
