I recently received an invitation from one of the big domain auction companies to list one of my domains on a special auction they have coming up... This is the first time I am contacted and asked to list one of my domains, therefore, I have several questions:

1. Do you think this is done because they already have a potential buyer?

2. The domain was hand-registered a few months ago. The only thing special about it is that its keywords refer to a recent event and its Google results have grown from a few thousands to millions. No PPC. Given this data, should it be listed with a low or high reserve price? (I know it is difficult to answer that without knowing what the domain is, but I cannot reveal the name).

3. Have you received such invitations from domain auction houses?

1. Quite likely, or they believe that the domain WILL sell with a low reserve.

2. List it with the lowest reserve amount that you are comfortable selling it for.

3. None that I can remember. There must be some special interest from the auction house.

I might bump up the reserve, based on the idea that they may have a buyer, as you suggested.

Good Luck :)
