Is it worth losing the reach of multiple marketplaces for the exclusivity and promotion of Atom?

I have two domains that have been accepted as premium, AimSteady.com & PlugDeal.com - but I feel removing them from premium listings as they'd have a better chance to sell without the exclusivity.

Whats every ones opinion on Atom Premium Listings?

Domains listed on Atom are not exclusive to Atom.

You can list them on Afternic and your domains get automatically listed on Sedo as well.

So, they are not exclusive at Atom. It pretty much covers all major MP's.

Atom does require exclusively from premium listings:

You need to point the nameservers to atom for the premium listing(s) and adjust Afternic listing (BIN) to 10% more of atom premium listing.

If your domain is approved for $2,199 then the afternic BIN must be $2,419 or higher (minimum 10% or more).

If your domain is already listed on SEDO then they (Atom) will automatically increase the price on that domain.

PS - When they adjust the listing on sedo, they will have it removed from your sedo dashboard!

Gotcha, I don’t think a premium listing would be worth it then considering all the stipulations - I’m pretty sure Afternic gets Atoms yearly traffic in just a couple months so having the sheer number of eyes out way all the bells and whistles of a premium listing on Atom. In my opinion.

I see your point. A premium listing on Atom might not be worth it when compared to Afternic’s much larger audience. The sheer volume of traffic on Afternic does seem to outweigh Atom.

Take AimSteady.com, for example. It’s a straightforward name that could work really well for a business focused on training people to improve their aim and use firearms effectively. For a name like that, you'd want as many eyes on it as possible, which Afternic (aka GoDaddy) can provide.

On the other hand, a made-up word like "Ballistrain" (from "ballistics" and "train") could be more suitable for Atom.

The name "Ballistrain" conveys expertise and training in firearms use while sounding modern and relevant to the audience. For such a creative name, a premium listing on Atom could help it stand out to buyers looking for something unique and conceptual. In that case, Atom’s more focused market might give the name the exposure it needs.

There really aren't any negative stipulations except that the price on the other networks has to be higher, so less chance that it sells outside of Atom, but still not infrequent based on reports here.

It is still listed at AN. And Sedo. They used to also list it at DAN. The only difference is the name servers. It is still on the other networks. I think that it is worth it for some names if they fit the kind of buyer I imagine is looking on Atom. The same is true for me with BrandBucket. I've had a good combination of success between the 3 markets lately. I don't think that I would have been as successful with everything at AN.

I don't feel like the standard listings at Atom get as much traffic and I don't really list there on standard. That may be a mistake, but I feel like AN and Sedo give me pretty good coverage since they aren't getting the premium focus at Atom/BB.

I haven't sold anything at Sedo in years. I don't really know why I keep listing there except that I'm due for something. The same was true for me at Dan without using their landers.

"Atom" meaning is very-very small particle of the Universe. You want to your "Eagle.com" be another Atom on Atom? All their "premium listings" are not so premium. 1$ per name.

Yes it is worth it imo. You can increase prices as you see fit if you feel like the commission is too high. But after 2 years your domains qualify for reduced commission. The added exposure, auto-listing on Sedo, Google ads, contests all make it worthwhile. Our yearly STR is around 3.5% after 2 years.

How long did it take to get approved for premium? I made the mistake of requesting a premium review of about 30 domains. I got two domains approved, but the rest have been in limbo for two weeks. I did sell a few of my domains privately in the 100k—400k range recently, which is crazy, and now I'm trying to get more aggressive about selling more domains. I'm looking for tips on how to get more exposure in general and on atom.com.

What does this mean "you qualify for reduced commission after 2 years"?

Whether it’s worth it or not depends on the type of domain. If it’s a domain with keywords that is likely that someone would try to register directly then Afternic is better because they put it in front of people doing that. But if it’s something creative for a brand name then Atom Premium is better because they have tools to help people come up with brand names and the premium listing gives you more exposure.

Like others have said you can still list it at both places. But my rule of thumb is if more likely to be a direct register point it Afternic to save on commission. If more creative then list Atom premium as they help it be found when people are brainstorming for a name.

But if I point to Afternic then I still put a standard listing on Atom. And if I go with Atom premium then I still also list on Afternic.

Just minutes ago, 13 of the 30+ were approved for premium. Some of the prices seem low, but I assume they price them to sell. Also, my feedback is that the free logos they create for these are trash—you need to fix those if you don't want a logo that looks like clip art. - BrandDivine.com

You can price higher than their suggested price. How much higher depends on your tier.

Do you know where I can see the maximum I can change it too? I'm in the lowest tier because I just joined. Also, do you know how I can get to the higher tier?
