NicNames is a new ICANN Accredited Registrar based in the United States. You can check their ICANN accreditation here:
https://www.icann.org/en/accredited...am=name&page=1&iana-number=4156&view-all=true

More information about NicNames: https://nicnames.com/en/about

I keep track of all new ICANN Accredited registrars, and I added NicNames’ prices to my site a few months ago as soon as their site went live.

They offer a membership that gives access to at-cost pricing for $99.00. Recently, they reached out to me and provided a promo code that allows you to get this membership for free.

Promo code: TLDES100

A short guide on how to use this promo code is on my blog:

This post would make more sense if you include the "at-cost price".

Of course, I added a link to their prices at the end of the first post.

The membership is $99 annually, does the coupon cover lifetime access or just the first year?

At least I got to appreciate their honesty:

I just tried to transfer a name out of NicNames. I was told by the owner they don't have this functionality yet and I need to email support for a manual transfer.

2026 and this site doesn't even allow online transfers :xf.rolleyes:

According to ICANN the transfer policy "The registrar must make its transfer process clear and concise and provide access to documentation of that process." Nothing about being required to email them (which is not mentioned on their website) is clear.

https://www.icann.org/en/contracted...strars/resources/domain-name-transfers/policy

I'd suggest not using them if speed is of the essence to anyone here.

While I am all in for these new providers, I believe it takes them time to make it convinient for their users to make it their default registrar.

I mean even for transfers you have to email the support and they will do in the next 24-48 hours.

I would rather go with Unstoppable who don't require any memberships and any names you register on friday is 5.99$

No option to approve for fast transfer. They only allow us to reject. :xf.confused:
So now the 5 day countdown begins.
