My wife of 47 years affectionately known as Patti-Pooh has been taking a baby aspirin and a multivitamin for 30 years. About 10 years ago she had the idea to combine an aspirin with a vitamin and call it AspirVita. We thought it was a pretty good idea at the time, but never did anything about it until now. You probably see on tv every day the crazy names given to drugs, some make sense others don't.

With 43 million people in the US, and God knows how many people worldwide taking an aspirin and a vitamin combination everyday, what do you think about the name AspirVita.com I just registered for Patti-Pooh?

The last thing I'll share about combining a baby aspirin with a vitamin is, while there's no guarantee the FDA would approve this, several doctors that I know believe it would be safe.

To the extent you think this idea and name have merit, I would appreciate your thoughts, and a possible appraisal if you're so inclined. Thank you.

I know people who work for biopharma companies that work on getting drugs FDA approved. It is a process than can cost hundreds of millions or more.

The good news though is what you are describing is basically compounding, which does not require FDA approval.

Are compounded drugs approved by the FDA?

Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. This means that FDA does not verify the safety, or effectiveness of compounded drugs. Consumers and health professionals rely on the drug approval process to ensure that drugs are safe and effective and made in accordance with Federal quality standards. Compounded drugs also lack an FDA finding of manufacturing quality before such drugs are marketed.

The health benefits/risks are debatable. I don't think there have been a lot of studies on it.

It would still likely be a very expensive process to get to the point of a sellable product. Even then, I am also not sure if it would be be patentable.

If you are going to invest all the time and money into a product like this, the domain itself is not even that relevant really. The business itself would be the value, not the domain.

The domain itself is a reg fee name.

Hard to believe, but that's the second "like" I've given you in as many days:xf.smile:. I have a local doctor who is investing $5,000 in one of my .today names, and just maybe I'll sell him AspirVita as part of the deal. Stay tuned!
