I need some help with Aruba.it.
Its an Italian domain registrar, and a name I in a deal with is regged there.
Its a huge pain transferring the name out from there, or even changing the ownership - you need to send faxed copies of ID cards, fill out forms, etc. (and I thought 1and1 was bad).

I've tried transferring the name to Moniker, but nothing happens. Neither the support at Aruba.it, or Moniker could help me out.

If anyone has used them, can you tell me how do you transfer a name out, or change its ownership?

I told you that I am happy to help, but yes in Italy they love burocrazy and even to get a refund I had to send my passport copy by fax.

Did you open a ticket with their support?

Thanks Lorenzo.

I did open a ticket with their support. Doesn't seem to be working though.

If things don't work out, I'll ask the seller to just give me the login and password to the domain name's control panel. But then, it'll be another problem transferring the name out.

I guess I might have to cancel the sale in its entirety. It was a great LN.com..:(

I don't use Aruba ( it isn't good for domainers ), but I think that the owner need to send a copy of an identification document via fax to Aruba to unlock the domain ;(

From Aruba Support:

"It is possible to transfer a domain registered on Aruba.it to another maintainer: nothing is owed to Aruba.it if you decide to transfer the domain name to another provider.
We also remind you that, if you decide to transfer the domain, Aruba will not refund any unused service period.
For domains other than .it domains it is necessary to proceed to unblock the domain against the unintentional transfers. In order to unblock the domain you need to go to this address http://admin.aruba.it and enter the name of the domain with related login and password; by doing so you can directly request to unblock the domain.

Alternatively you can send the provided form โ€œDeactivation of protection against unauthorised transfersโ€, which can be downloaded from this page www.aruba.it/moduli.asp, together with a copy of an identification document of the domain assignee via fax to this number
0039 0575 515790."

Good Luck
