.tv Arlington.tv sold for $1800

Since it was done on Afternic, there is no way to keep it quiet, so I decided to go ahead and announce the purchase. This was a blind offer, not an active sale.

Arlington, TX is the #50 largest city and Arlington, VA is #100.

Both cities will be supported using this domain.

ChannelLocal (our GEO .TV network) will be launching in May.

I just added it to the 2007 sales list. To put things into perspective, this name sold for $140.00 MORE then Detroit.tv.

While the Arlington.tv sale was higher than Detroit.tv, I'm not sure I would declare that the aftermarket for GEOs is spiking (just yet). First of all, a market requires several consumers and so far not many have been active above $1,000.

While some people have high expectations for their Geo TV holdings, I was able to get the owner of Arlington.tv to come down from $40,000 to $1,800 with minimal effort.

The premium GEO domains should provide an interesting barometer. Do these domains go at the reserve price? Will they go higher than reserve? Do they remain unregged?

They arent the only ones interested in GEO.TV's!!! LOL (But they probably have most of them!!!)

Lets hope that the GEO.TV market keeps expanding, and I think it will real soon...

We could see News stations begin to bid for the geo name in there local area???
