Argh! What's up with my cPanel?

OK, cPanel seems to have changed... I have two email addresses: info[at]rednerve.com and sales[at]rednerve.com. I use the Horde webmail program and I used to be able to click on the seperate mail boxes in the program but now, I cannot see the options for opening these mail boxes :o

If you see on the left hand side where all the folders are? There used to be two folder options "sales" and "info" which used to open my respective email addresses but they are not there any more - how do I access these inboxes?

Really need help on this ... I can't access any of my emails!

Thanks,

Will.

Quick fix: set up Outlook Express to receive messages from those accounts and then e-mail your host to see what's going on.

I just checked Horde, although I normally use OE, and all my accounts are listed in that box to the left, so I don't know what to tell you.

While waiting for you host to reply, you can also forward all your emails to an external email account like gmail or hotmail for the time being.

Unfortunately, my host is not a "hosting company" it comes from a contact from Australia who I helped out and he gave me free hosting in return. I have his MSN but he is Away at the minute... Is anyone else having the same problem?

Try SquirrelMail. You may be able to access the mails again.

Well, I spoke to my contact and he told me that the company providing the hosting is doing upgrades on the mail system and this could be why the boxes have gone. He also explained to me how to set up Outlook Express and it seems a lot better so I think I will use that.

One problem though (he is trying to find out how to solve it), whenever I try and send an e-mail, I get the following error:

"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: '[email protected]', Server: 'mail.rednerve.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F"

Anyone know what this is?

I wonder if this is the same host as mine... doubt it - but I have the same problem... started around 11am this morning. First lost all the databases in mysql.. completely vanished - but then it came back after a couple of hours. But then I couldnt get into cpanel - and when I finally managed to do that, the email in horde is all messed up.

Had enough of hosting through someone else, need a new host... gonna make a post elsewhere for some advice/info... hope it gets sorted for you Will

MySQL databases are still there, so I'm not sure if it's the same problem... Anyone know anything about my Outlook Express error?

Oh, and also, a lot of the time when I close Outlook Express, it gives me this screen?

Would a re-install fix this or what?

Thanks,

Will.

just re-install outlook express.

OK, it seems uninstalling Outlook Express is more complicated than I first thought. How do I uninstall it? And also, where can I go to get a downloadable version of Outlook Express 6 (since that's what I had before).

Thanks,

Will.

'Start' > 'Control Panel' > 'Add/Remove Programs' > 'Add/Remove Windows Components' (a button on the left)

Scroll down and Uncheck 'Outlook Express'.
Click Next and it will uninstall.

After it's done, go back to 'Add/Remove Windows Components', place a check next to 'Outlook Express'.
Click Next and it will install.

Hope this helps.

on that same procedure and steps before uninstalling, try repair first see if it will be fixed if not uninstall and install again.

The reason for the email address folders not being listed is likely due to the new email software used by CPanel, Courier. It is not the same as the uwimap version, thus you won't be able to find subfolders for other email addresses. Instead, you need to login to each email address separately.

Ah, thanks PolurNET. My host guided me through setting up Outlook Express anyway so I've got that working so I'll just stick with that I think...

Thanks,

Will.
