Can NamePros put measures or sanctions to thread starters in the "domains wanted" for not following up or responding?

I think some will agree that sometimes it's a waste of time to answer this want ads(well most of them). The thread starter should be obligated to answer posts or PMs regarding his want ad.

Just a thought.

I think at least an update is "courtious".

Possibly after a "period" of time, say 3 days, when there is no response from the thread starter, perhaps it could be removed?

Obviously, if someone is going away for 7 days or 2 weeks, and posts before they leave, it's a little stupid....*shrugs*

Other thoughts and feedback?

I'll take a run through the Wanted's Forum this week and clean out / close some of the oldies and narlies ... and let's try to work here on some specific language to add to this "Sticky" (with respect to active time periods, replies to threads, dated requests, "rules", etc.) :talk:

Thread:

Thanks kindly for addressing this! :tu:

Three days should be more than enough to give them time to respond. If they are really serious with their offers :)

Cleaning up that section of the forum would be great, Jeff.

thanks.

Another part of it is when someone new searches through the old posts and for some reason decides to bump up an oldy.

This makes it new again and can be annoying because you get the same round of PMs when it gets back in the active threads, but there's no way for someone to even formally request thread deletion short of just posting "please delete this thread" or posting as such in the private messages to staff.

Thread deletion requests could be formalized somehow..
