Hey I was just wondering

Say I have a domain name, and I get my buddy to sell it on his ebay account is this allowed??

Like can another person not the register sell a domain on ebay possibly with the registers consent???

Yes, but make sure that you clearly state in the auction listing that you're selling the name on behalf of the owner to save any trouble and prevent confusion. Best of luck. :)

Yeah and also you would have to arrange transferring the domain with the seller yourself and with your friend.

I failed to mention in my first post that if you (or anyone else) sells a name for the owner then be aware that you're responsible for completing the sale and any issues that may arise with the owner (such as them refusing to push the name, not going through with their end of the deal, etc....). There's many things that can go sour during a sale, so keep in mind you are responsible for it as well. :tu:

All the Best,

Hmmm...

Well See I am not actually doing this I have discovered that it has been done with me

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5785934820&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT

I emailed the seller, and got no reply

Then I looked up WHOIS and sent an email to that email and got this reply

Sorry for the slow reply. Iโ€™ve got a busy afternoon in front of me, but Iโ€™ll check everything and get back to you later tonight.

Kristopher Kinch (The domains are registered under my name, but we used Iman Wicaksonoโ€™s e-bay account to sell them)

And Still no contact from either seller or register

I'd be very cautious when buying names on eBay if the individual who has them listed is not the owner listed in the whois records (especially if they haven't stated they are brokering on behalf of the owner). Always make sure to send a note to the email address listed in the whois to verify that the name is for sale and the individual you're dealing with is indeed the owner. It's a simple step to prevent from getting burned. If you get an email back saying the name has never been for sale, then you'll know it wasn't a legit sale. The statement, "If it seems too good to be true, then most likely it is" is very important when doing business online. Just use your gut instinct and if it smells fishy, then simply avoid the whole situation. :)

I wish you the very best and hope everything goes smoothly for you with the purchase of the 3 names off eBay. :tu:

Best Regards,
Chris
