I see that VR domains are selling a lot right now and for some reason it reminds me of when everyone bought the "apple watch" domains and they were everywhere.

I'm not a hardcore domainer as I focus on other areas and a good domain is only 1/10th of what I do but I was wondering:

What sort of future do VR domains have?
and
Did any of you make any money from the Apple Watch domains?

All the best :D

Certainly not the "apple watch" domains, but I'd say they're similar to the "e/e-" domains.

I'm excited. :)

I see you have some for sale right now, what made you buy them in the first place? Did you buy them because you saw an increase in popularity or because you saw an opportunity? :)

I'd say I saw opportunity. At first, I didn't even know what "VR" was. I noticed the thread on here, and decide to look into it. I lurked the VR thread for a while, kept up with the news, did my due diligence, and decided to join in around page 50. It was only about a year ago, but even then, I felt like I was late to the party. So many of the names I wanted were taken. :'( lol. Still, I've been able to build up a pretty decent portfolio, and I've received multiple offers on quite a few of my names. :)

I'm waiting for the market to mature now. Meanwhile, I'll curate my domains, and scavenge the aftermarket.

If you're looking to get some VR names yourself, there's still plenty of opportunity left. Keep an eye out for drops. Last summer was pretty active. So, some gems are definitely going to be sacrificed. If you want to handreg, aim for brandables. Stay away from the longer names, keep up with the technology, and like any other name; make sure you can see the business in it.

Cheers! :)

Well VR's potential is a little higher than the smartwatch, VR has been tipped to revolutionise every industry (entertainment/health/retail/games/adult and even the internet itself).

If it does fulfill its potential what remains to be seen is if companies need VR domains, the mobile industry is huge but companies don't need 'mobile' after every keyword.

Only time will tell if VR domains are needed, but I'd rather try and fail than not try at all and regret it and since nothing is going to come along with potential as high as the up coming virtual devices (VR/AR/MR) in the foreseeable future, trying is what i and many other people are doing.
