Are dashes ever OK?

Suppose you discover what you feel is a GREAT name, but it has dashes (one or more). You try some quantitative testing on Google, Ovt, and Sedo, but all report back the name w/o the dashes.

Would you still reg it?

I know a lot depends on the name, extension, and appropriateness to the subject matter.

Please weigh in on this.

Sometimes you need a dash - I mean, www.penisland.net is a site for Pen Island and there's nothing rude, but many people would see it as penis land.....
