After I read the news about Adobe abandoning Flash I had a flash myself. http://news.discovery.com/tech/adob...tml?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Could it be true that the path to the mobile web, the way we have discussed it
here since 2006, could be finally becoming reality?

.The Apple walled garden is crumbling http://www.zdnet.com/blog/saas/apples-garden-wall-is-cracking/1423
.There is much more talk about web apps and HTML5, but most sites will be static XHTML sites in the future (Don’t forget the little store next door that only needs a simple website 50% 60% 70%...).
.Users are complaining more about the slow mobile web (What they really are seeing are PC websites on their iPhones etc and not the true mobile web) http://publishing2.com/2007/09/26/five-reasons-why-the-mobile-web-sucks/
.There are so many guides about how to develop a mobile website. I have not found a better one so far than “dotMobi Mobile Web Developer's Guide”. http://pc.dev.mobi/files/dotMobi Mobile Web Developers Guide.pdf
.I remember some of the first threads here about how third world countries will lead the mobile web. It’s happening today! http://www.dmconfidential.com/blogs/category/Marketing/1211/
.Remember back then how we said no matter how powerful smartphones will be the screen size will always create the need for specific mobile websites. This is still true today.
.The vision of dotMobi is becoming reality. I also agree that more aggressive marketing would have helped, but maybe the time wasn’t right. Wow! .co .xxx etc are taking off, but they don’t represent mobile, they only represent the lack of available .coms and cctlds. Don’t underestimate all the new generation mobile only websites. Google mentioned that over 70% of the business websites are not mobile friendly. My estimate is over 90% of the non business websites are not mobile friendly. If most .coms are used for PC websites what will be the preferable next choice for mobile? Take a guess. I knooow yooou caaan uuuse aaany doomain, but what will be the thing to have? Remember the .com success story. Wasn’t it possible to use any other domain back then as well?
.Too many thoughts with a gut feeling are difficult to express. I’m curious to see what the mobile future will be like in relation to our interests............mobi..
