Are 95% of .cc Names WorthLess?

Just curious, looking at my spreadsheet of names and see a few .cc names in the mix and wondering if even one word names have value or should i put them in the discount bin at virtual walmart. Any opinions?

If you get right down to it, 95% of all tld's names are worthless. Just like any other TLD, you need to pick ones in the other 5%. For .cc I think that would be developeable single and strong two word domains. I've been picking up a few over time that I think will have long term value such as Baptist.cc, RockBand.cc, and Employee.cc. However, less than 0.5% of my portfolio is .cc and I only go for ones I think are moneymaking keywords or could be type-ins at some point.

Great insight and i agree about the 95% 5% concept. I kinda wrote that as more of a catchy headline but what i am trying to figure out is the appreciation value in the better .cc names. And the second concern or question is if they need to developed to bring any real value.

I always wondered why this extension never tried to promote the "credit card" or "carbon copy" theme.

I'd go as far to say 99.9% of .cc domains are worthless. A select few are worth something. I'm a fan of .cc, in fact I've got www.vip.cc (which hopefully fits into the .01% category).

Gonna go with Mark on this one - since so few .cc's are registered, the keywords that are actually registered and aren't kited are probably of higher quality than .info or other extension that encourages volume registrations by price or promotion (.tk ).

From what I noticed a lot of names are worthless unless useful. like it could be worth something if you own the domain name in the .com and you also have a business in the UK. then it might be a good idea to buy the .uk domain name. your best be is to get a domain name the 1 or 2 works. then it might be worth something. something like business.uk might world be worth something. I think value will grow in the future. I would say go for a good domain name if you can score one. hold on to it for a while and you might get a good pay day. it's about getting the right domain name. then it will be worth something.

there are a few steady markets in .cc world:

EG. 2 character .cc seem to go for high $XX - low $XXX .

However, 90% of all CC is worthless IMO.

.CC is loved in china for some odd reason...

I have registered or purchased around 30 .CC domains and have sold 8 so far for a nice profit.

pennsylvania
disease
unions
hostess
wagering
charlotte
delhi

other .cc names that I am currently hanging onto:
carolina, moneyorder(s), forts, pagers, gowns, rafts, jerseys, Augusta, DesMoines, projection, whales, carpenters, dishwasher(s), fireplaces, married, factories, earthquakes, videocameras, factories, blueprints...

I know that I can sell many of these down the road. I am willing to renew all of them for as long as it takes.

So, don't let anybody tell you that they're worthless - THEY'RE NOT
