just received an email from him today, not yet aksing for an appraisal but asking for my asking amount here is the email:

Hi,

I'm writing regarding your domain for sale I saw about two weeks ago. Unfortunately, I was busy and could not contact you at that time.

Is it still available for sale? Have you received any bids from other buyers?

Please email me your asking price in US dollars.

If I can afford your domain I will contact you. Please keep my email address and our correspondence confidential.

I run a software development company. Selling & buying names is not my main business. Just another way to invest free money and make some income.

Kindest regards,

So we have decided that any emails from:
toughguy.net
no matter what name or what ever he is a scammer:
just realised that he always includes:
How do you prefer to get paid: www.PayPal.com, www.escrow.com, check or wire?
doesnt he

I've got some IP information, but looks like he changes them often.

I want my $50 back. To late to file a claim with Paypal now though.

Oh what the ****?

I just bought 2 appraisals a few weeks ago for this guy (total of: $100+ - Sedo Premium and FastDomainSales), and we made a "deal" - I tried to split 50:50 but he insisted that I buy as it is my responsibility.

Well nevertheless I have some VALUABLE information but co-operation and help from EVERYONE is needed here - INCLUDING ADMINISTRATORS.

I know that he goes by a few aliases on a certain forum (not this one) - He is also a frequent visitor of THIS forum so I would urge strongly that the owners of namepros.com make a "seperate" only "trusted" members forum/section where we can all work together on this case ... In the mean time I urge everyone who wants to be involved to add me on my private msn address: [email protected] - I will be on as soon as I get home from college. (4PM UK TIME)

Unfortunately, this guy/guys in russia and really are any of us going to be able to do anything about it...???

I guess the best course of action would be to lobby toughguy.net and inform them of their name being trashed by allowing a scammer to abuse their facilities...

Redleg, didnt you have some fun with this guy a while back...??? I'll go find the thread......

They will stop if everyone who gets scammed does a chargeback, which costs maybe $50 per chargeback incident. When the $$$ starts flowing out of his bank account instead of in, then he'll stop.

I don't know what the credit card rules are in different countries, but my Mastercard/Visa allows up to 6 months to report a fraudulent charge.

I bet ya he probably owns fastdomainsales.com ;)

I'm up for making a non-profit scam busting site, if we can all work together we can solve many scam cases including this one, what do ya all think?

I can get the domain, hosting, SEO and perhaps marketing covered - We would need all the help we can get - Free advice from lawyers and more?
