Hi All,

First post (well, second, but I stuffed up and didn't include the domain in the title first time around with this post, hopefully I haven't missed any other rules), recommended here by a thread on webhostingtalk.com.

I have never sold a domain for profit before and on a whim a few months ago I purchased some domains which relate to apple ipad (taking a gamble that would be the name of the new apple tablet). Anyway, turns out my gamble was correct. I have the following two domains which I would like a rough idea of value:

appleipad.org
appleipad.me

You made a good guess on the ipad name but a bad choice registering apple + ipad domains. These names have no value because of TM issues. Using privacy isn't going to protect you.

Yes, you can contact your registrar thru support and ask them to drop the names asap

You could do the unusual thing of offering them to Apple free of charge, saying you made a mistake by registering them and would like to apologise.

What this will do is allow them to take full ownership of the names so that no one else can try to take them and show that though misguided you are doing the right thing.

If I was a company and someone offered me a few relevent names free (you must make it clear you are offering them FREE and not trying to gouge them or it could backfire) I would be well chuffed as it would save me a lot of time in legal wrangling.

I'd advise you to contact Apple and to try to give it to them, just for a funny price 99$/each. :bah:
