domain 2GiPad .com

Hey all, I'm pretty much a domain newbie and would love to know what 2GiPad.com appraises for. I do realize that some apple ipad names are worthless because of trademark issues, but this 2GiPad.com is not really infringing on any TM issues because it doesnt contain apple in it, and iPad hasn't been trademarked by apple.

I would really appreciate if anyone could help me out with this, as I dont wanna get ripped off on the price.

The people bidding think the auction is for an actual iPad. They don't know what a domain name is or didn't read the description or don't know English well enough.

Look at how many views the auction has, 945. That is an astronomical number for a domain auction on eBay.

apple is owner of the patent of iPad but not the TM.

The fact is, everyone knows iPad is an Apple product. Whether they own the trademark or not, it was still registered in bad faith and, personally, I wouldn't want to take on Apple in court. Last I checked, they are a fairly large corporation and can probably hire much better lawyers than you can. Check up on the laws regarding domains and reconsider your decision. Also, just because you may sell it on eBay, doesn't mean you're in the clear (since you'll technically be profiting off of Apples inferred trademark). I'm no expert on domain law, but if you've read this forum before, you'd know this is just not a good idea.

I did a Madrid search at WIPO.

There are 3 world marks for ipad.

1) a French company for pharmaceuticals

2) Siemens, a German company for motors and engines

3) A US company for anything and everything to do with computers and computing.
The intersting thing is the company name. IPApplicationDevelopment LLC. The initials spell IPAD
and this is an application dated 16-01-10, about 12 days before the ipad was unveiled.

That's the classic cybersquatting case. When will people understand they must stay away of TM domains?
