Appears ws = porn -- hurt for development?

I was just about to buy a .ws domain for developmernt of a specific collectible auction site. There ARE NO 'good' (both price and usability) available alternatives in the normal extensions.

I did a 'site:ws' Google and in the first 10 pages nearly every result was a porn site. This totally turned me off & don't know what to do.

That's interesting. I was planning to "experiment" on a .ws. Oh well.
Anyway, it seems also that .biz is saturated with MLMs nowadays.
Am right or was it just me?

i think you should get it. .ws has quite a good potential IMO

The name is PotteryAuction.??? -- yes I know auctions is available but don't like it for this.

The owner of PotteryAuction.com owns nearly all the 'good' names redirected to the .com & then doesn't really work the site. I am told that he thinks someone will come along & give him large$ for the site.

Our Idea is to run something similar to the old time 'mail bid' sales 4 times a year where everything is guaranteed etc.

Personally, I wouldn't let what others have regged in the .ws ext influence you.. the niche you're promoting shouldn't be affected by the porn trade in any case.

Interesting. Was available When I started this thread. Bet someone read it here I quick got it which may not be all that bad. No big deal as I think we found a very good alternative in (believe it or not) dot com.

Yeah, I'd take a .com alternative over .ws in 99% of the circumstances.. maybe it's for the best. Good luck!
