I was just looking at my sales history on Afternic and someone with the user name Apollo purchased most of my domains over the years. Does anyone know who Apollo is and how to contact this person, via Afternic or any other means? Whoever this is, has a great ability to flip domains as the whois for all of the domains I sold to Apollo is not the same any more.

Apollo is Afternic. Why they didn't just call their house account "Afternic" instead of getting cute is beyond me, it makes for a lot of confusion. I'd love to see them change it.

I'll tag @Joe Styler who will tell you the same. He can probably also clarify what situations you'd see Apollo, but I believe it is used by all brokers and also all premium network sales (basically any time the other party doesn't have or need an Afternic account).
It is used by any listing that is getting fed through Afternic to GoDaddy auctions so if you list a name for sale on Afternic and it sells on GoDaddy auctions then the seller is actually you but through Afternic and handled by their escrow team. So it would be any sale that goes through the Afternic side to GoDaddy, not exclusively brokers. It is an old name that predates our purchase of Afternic.

It is Afternic, it is their alias to hide the actual buyer. For the last two domains I have sold through Afternic, the two (and different) actual buyers contacted me outside of Afternic to confirm with me that I still owned the domains in question. One buyer out of New York and the other out of Texas, both from two completely different businesses.

Good to know. :)

What is the difference, if any, between purchases made by "apollo" and apoIIo" (apoiio spelt with two uppercase i's)? In the past few months, about half of my network sales have been handled by the user "apoiio" and the other half by "apollo".
