Anyone thought about developing such a tool?

Hi, fellow domainers,
I wonder if any of you have thought about developing such a software that can automatically find out those names regged in other extensions but the .com version left available for reg?
That might be a lot helpful for us to reg some traffic names at reg fee.
Is this technically feasible? Thanks for your input.

Happy Thanksgiving to those in the States!

Heh good word.

Yes that would be a fine invention but I doubt that it would go public. I dont think many domains have that status and those that do, the person who invents this magical script will probably buy them out himself.

Exody.com offers lists like this.

I think this would be a great script. If the .net, .org, and .info are registered, then in most cases the .com must be desirable.

Some funny things. dewimax.net is registered while dewimax.com is available.

It would be simple to write a script like this. You could probably pay a programmer $50 or less to get it done. There's lots of sites where you can post projects and programmers will offer you a quote as to how much it will cost you.

how much traffic do you think a .net can contribute to you?
and what is the best way to make money, do you park the .com or make PPC page?

They don't need to care, cause I can get enough payout by the traffic they delivered to me.
I wish their .nets get more and more traffic, honestly.

It's not a bad strategy really. .NET's to always have type-in fallover traffic to the .COM. The problem I found was that most of the .NET's that had available .COM counterparts were undeveloped.

Well It depends on the traffic of the developed extensions.
I have a .com whose .org was developed however after a research I found the .org site was not populated, but still, I got 10-20 visits /mo.
I will first park it, if the clicks are low, I will then develop a similar contented site (only one page) with as much as adsense or YPN (if I have).

I used to get a list like that at localwhois.com, before domainsbot.com purchased them. I think they still offered it for a while, but I quit subscribing to that a couple years ago as it was fairly expensive.

As I have answered on DNF the most straightforward approach would be to run a query on the zone files direct.
